Emergency Service Districts
Texas Emergency Service Districts (ESDs) are diverse in size, shape and service delivery. Comal County ESDs may differ due to population density, natural barriers, transportation areas and legislation.
According to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) there are approximately twenty-three legally recognized boat ramps on Canyon Lake. This map identifies ramps that the county controls. For information regarding other ramps search the USACE or WORD websites.
Camp Bullis Dark Skies
A portion of Comal County is designated as the Camp Bullis Dark Skies Zone. The county adopted an Order to help preserve dark skies. This regulates outdoor lighting in areas adjacent to military installations with critical training facilities such as Camp Bullis.
